Victorian Parker Hanging Library Oil Lamp Satin Blue Glass Hobnail Shade Antique

For your consideration is an antique Parker hanging library oil lamp with a satin blue hobnail 14 dome shade. The brass frame is two toned gold and rose gold color. The font and frame feature a floral and leafy pattern with the final focal point being a cherub face at the bottom of the frame. The frame does not have any cracks, splits, bends or repairs; the font can does not sit tightly, and does have some slight movement. The font is marked and has an appropriate Parker flame spreader; the thumbwheel is marked Made in U. And the fill cap reads Parker. The font can does not ave any splits but there is a couple of small dings under the threads of the burner; additionally, the fill cap sides are dented from possibly someone trying to remove the fill cap. The motor is in good working condition and will lower and raise to your desired height. The lamp is 37 length in the retracted position from the top of the motor to the finial.

The blue hobnail shade is original and has fired rim edges. The shade does not have any chips, cracks or repairs but does have a possible burst air bubbles on the very top of the top rim that the shade crown sits which appears to be in the making. The shade measures 6 5/8" in height, the top opening is 5 3/4" in diameter and the bottom opening is 14. The shade does fit tight into the holder on the frame. It may just be from the hooks on the ladder chain.
