Victorian Antique Emerald Student Desk Lamp, Oil Kerosene, Manhattan 1876 #32288. A Victorian period "student" desk lamp burns oil or kerosene, and is signed Manhattan Brass Co. Pat May 23, (18)76. The emerald green shade is "cased" opal white inside to reflect light downwards. The base has adjustable height and its original nickel finish has charming patina and wear.

The glass chimney is signed Acme Lead Flint. American made, this antique light has a cylindrical cloth wick that adjusts by turning the socket. Measurements are 13" across, 8" deep and 21 tall overall. Please view 27 photos at full screen size for best detail.
