As this account is new my feedback is limited. I f you have any concerns or are understandably. Hesitant please put your mind at rest by viewing my feedback at 4evaold. PEG KEROSENE OIL LAMP & SHADE. This listing is for the complete lamp which is in exceptional condition. The fount is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. Commensurate with its age it does have the usual small air bubbles as well as two larger ones. None of which are broken.

The surface is glossy showing negligible signs of wear and/or use. It does have a couple of tiny fine scuffs which are almost impossible to detect. This fount has excellent even depth of colour. Because the candle cup (base) is quite narrow the standard brass peg fitting is far too large and it has been removed.

To secure the fount to the base this can be replaced with a smaller one, or one can use blue tac if you may want to swap bases at a later date or Plaster of Paris for a permanent solution. The solid brass collar is original and has a couple of very tiny dints to the top external rim with no splits, cracks, creases etc. The burner is in excellent condition and without cracks, scratches or splits. The wick winder moves freely and has no excess movement.

It is unusual to find a 6 burner with a porcelain button and even more so when the button is damage free. The chimney is in excellent condition with no chips cracks, fleabites, scratches or scuffs. It dates from the early 1900's and although it is a replacement has never been used or installed.

This chimney has the mark of Sun Brand on the bottom face. Which is close to immaculate. Is beautifully hand crafted and a perfect match to the fount.

It can be displayed sitting directly on the shade lip of the burner or alternatively a shade gallery can be fitted if you prefer. The base comprises an off white marble foot and remaining components in brass which are not all original to this base. With the exception of the candle cup which takes the peg all components are age appropriate. The base is in very good condition without damage and little or no signs of wear to any of the components. H 490mm 19 1/4 (with chimney). 270mm 10 5/16 (top of collar). W 90mm 3 1/2 (base).

Please view the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description. Items which need extra attention/care antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc. I use recycled packaging as much as possible. Items can be collected from KYNETON 3444. If you are not in a hurry I may be able to organise collection from SUNBURY 3429.
