Inscribed with U S with an anchor between the letters. Also inscribed with the letters PB, probably indicative of the maker perhaps Perkins Brass? The burner unit is inscribed on the bottom with the number 32. It does not have a wick.
Dimensions: 18 tall with handle extended, slightly under 16 with handle down. Base is 8½ wide including the brackets. Body is solid brass with a Gorgeous Patina. Glass lens is 1/4 (5-6 cm) thick, has one chip that does not really detract from the appearance. The lantern is very heavy, about 9 ½ pounds.See pictures for a full representation of the condition.
