B & H Cranberry Hobnail Opalescent Brass Hanging Electrified Oil Lamp Vintage

B & H Marked on the Fancy Scroll Design on the Font. Patton on one part Dec 31, 1895. Patton on another Part June 7, 1888. Cranberry Hobnail Opalescent Glass Shade.

There is minor chips on the upper edge. These are not seen and there is no other issues (see photo 11). Looks like this was modified in the 20's or 30's with the cloth wiring that was hard wired into the house.

I attached a splice so you can see it lite up. Marked with B & H in the scroll work and two separate Patton dates.

The font looks like it would no longer be safe to hold kerosene with minor splits in the metal. I did not check this because it is electrified. The wick handle turns perfect but no longer adjusts anything. The on and off switch for the lamp they did an excellent job installing. You hardly ever see this. To be able to use a switch on the lamp itself and it is brass and blends perfectly with the metal and design. It has some dings around it, I would guess this spot might have been were the fill spout was at and they pressed the lid to make this area. No matter - nicely done. I will leave mine in it. I like the long skinny bulb you can put what you like or use my recommended bulb. Crystals, They are all here and all true vintage- I have weighed each and they are all 5 oz so that you will have a perfect level hang. I will also include a few extras just in case one is not as perfect.

All other brass and metal. Excellent condition with the adjusting springs and coil of chain in the top. I have it as short as possible. My ceilings for photos are short.

However there is tons of chain to lower the unit. It also comes with the lamp snuffer.

Please look over all the photos to help be the best judge of the condition and style. Note that I can make as many photos of any part you would like a closer look at. Shortest you can make this lamp hang is approx 38 in from ceiling. Longest is up to you. Lots of chain inside and you can add easily.

Cranberry shade base is 14 in wide and 7 in Tall. This is very simple and does not require any tools to screw back on. If you need instructions on this I will be here to assist you and can send with the lamp if you need. In most cases that rate is higher than the actual cost or wrong!
