Antique Victorian Hanging Parlor Oil Lamp Ruby Shade and Crystal Prisms. It hung in their grandparent's home. The lamp never had oil in it, and it was never used.
After a thorough inspection of the lamp, we could find no evidence it had ever been used. The lamp hangs down approximately 40. It is approximately 18 wide.
The decorative brass frame is in excellent condition and has a beautiful shine. Glass prisms hang from brass trim holding the lamp shade and the bottom ends with brass loops and ball surrounding the oil lamp. I could not find any markings to definitively determine its origin and age. This is a rare piece of history given the fact it has survived this long without being used.
No chips, cracks or other damage. The gorgeous ruby red shade measures 14 inches across. It fits perfectly inside the framing of the rim.
The hurricane shade fits snug and appears to be original to the lamp. The oil lamp base has two knobs for adjusting the wicks. This is a stunning piece of history that would give beauty and elegance to any room.
