Rare and wonderful late 19th Century deluxe cigar lighter oil lamp with a clock and cherub base. The lamp is brass and brass plated metal, likely spelter. The base is brass plated cast iron.
This appears to have some quality restoration, but we are not sure to what extent because noting is obvious or sloppy. There are no serious condition issues, but note the area around the outside of the clock face, there is an uneven gap which suggests that something isn't quite right. There is also a small hole in the back of the cherub's head.
The delicate glass shade has no damage. The font and burner are untested for use. There is minor wear from age overall. The two wands for lighting cigars are intact in their holders on either side of the clock. Each wand would have a small wick in the end which is then set aflame by the holding it to the burner of the oil lamp at the top, and used to light a cigar, much like a match. The clock is untested and is possibly an old replacement, but we aren't sure. It has what looks like a paper face that was made by the Gilbert Co. There are some minor dents.Measures about 26 tall total. The base is about 8 wide. The clock is 4 diameter. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Lamps, Lighting\Lamps".
