Antique Silver Plated HINKS Duplex Oil Lamp Burner with Cut Glass Font

Victorian Silver Plated Hinks Oil Lamp. A lovely original silver plated "Hinks Patent Duplex" oil lamp burner with a cut glass font. Can be used as a stand alone oil lamp or placed inside a holder on a larger lamp.

The burner has a shade ring holder, twin wick turners and a snuffer. The font is clear cut glass with a hobnail design. The plated collar is stamped "Hinks & Sons Patent". Total Height : 7 1/2 (19cm).

Diameter of Font : 6 (15cm). Diameter of Shade Holder : 4 1/2 (11cm). The lamp is in good condition for its age however the silver plating is worn in places and the brass below showing through.

It has also tarnished in places. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and does display well but is by no means perfect. The burner itself is in good shape - the wick turners move smoothly and the snuffers also work. There are no major cracks or damages to the glass font apart from some minor surface nibbles. The oil lamp is untested and I have not had it burning with paraffin in. However it appears to be in good order and I see no reason why it should not work as designed.
