B&H began to advertise and sell it to retailers like Montgomery Ward, (they must have paid royalties to Standard Oil for the use of the name). Its sole purpose was to help Standard Oil sell kerosene. This lamp was patented on Dec 31, 1895. It also comes with a chimney, shade holder and a white glass shade. The shade holder is a bit loose but shade is stable.
It's approximately 24 tall (to top of chimney) and approximately 6 across the base. Lamp is in excellent condition: no chips or cracks. There is one small ding on the base (depicted in a photo). Please see photos for a detailed view of the condition. Please feel free to ask questions.
