Antique Rayo Hanging Oil Lamp Blue Hobnail Shade Rayo By Bradley & Hubbard. I believe from all of the research I have done that this lamp was manufactured by the Bradley and Hubbard company under the name Rayo. The brass heart shaped connector with embossed design is a known design of Bradley and Hubbard circa 1880.

All the crystal prisms are present. The blue hobnail shade has large hobnails similar to work by Hobbs Brockunier, but we cannot be sure who the maker is. The diameter on the base of the shade is just over 14. Overall height is about 35 inches.

The shade does have couple flea bites around the rims. There are also a few indentations around the bottom base I believe this is from when it was made as these are smoother not like a chip. This is not uncommon for a shade of this age. The ring that goes around the top of the shade is bigger than the opening of the shade.

There are some variations among the prisms. Some of the hooks/pin connectors for the prisms appear to be replacements or homemade. The vast majority of the prisms are in good condition. However given their age there are some rough spots on the edges or tips. I have extra prism parts that I will be including in the sale. Some of the extra pieces the top prism of some of them are a different shape and some of these do have chips. I put all the best prisms on the lamp. There is possibly a connector chain for the smoke bell that is missing. The brass could use a good polishing as there is tarnishing in spots. I have not attempted to clean this in any way.

There are also some scratches on the surface of the bottom part. On the smoke bell there is also ware. This lamp has been converted to electric. However from my research and what I have been told by lamp enthusiasts this can easily be converted back.

I believe the font is a center draft font. In all the lamp alone weights about 13 pounds.
