Its a very special lamp - hopefully my pics do it justice, when seen in person its just outstanding. There are some minor imperfections, some wear to the backside of the glass where the transfer scene was worn down to the white opaline glass underneath. No damages to the glass but there is some wear on the back side as shown in my pics. As noted the lamp was originally kerosene converted to electricity many many moons back.
The wiring appears safe but you may want to rewire just to be safe. As stated in teh condition report, I replaced the wiring that attached to the upper socket and spliced it with the wiring inside the cavity. The photo of the underside of the font was taken prior to me doing the rewiring. If you want to convert it back to oil/kerosene you would either have to undo the solder that holds the socket in place or simply replace the entire font.
It looks like it would soldered part could be undone but sometimes things look easy, that is until you have to actually do them. I have provided lots of information and nice pics.
