Antique Large SUCCESS Hand Painted Roses Glass Shade Converted Oil Lamp GWTW

From a coastal Maine estate. Lovely handpainted roses adorn the wide glass body and shade of this late Victorian Pittsburgh SUCCESS oil lamp, which sits atop a perforated brass stand. This lamp was converted sometime early in the 20th century and the wiring is cloth wrapped and frayedbut it still works.

The pull chain interferes with there being a clear glass chimneybuyer will want to use a toggle-switched cord when rewiring this lamp so that the chimney can be replaced on the burner. Glass is in very good condition. Hand painted florals in very good condition with only very minor wear.

Shade measures 9 5/8"W at the base, 4 1/4"W at the top, and 7H. Glass shade sits atop a three armed round fitter. Lamp stands 24"H X 12"W when fully assembled. Original SUCCESS oil tank is brass and fits into a brass sleeve in the glass-bodied base of the lamp. It has old cracks, which would appear to be the reason why it was electrified.
