This elegant antique hanging lamp has a milk glass shade with brass accents, spiral-shaped cast iron detail, and a pulley mechanism to lower the lantern. Originally a kerosene or oil lamp, the fixture has been electrified, and the wiring is in working condition. This is a similar style to Bradley and Hubbard lamps of the same era, but it has no brand markings. One knob is marked Success.
CONDITION: Glass chimney is missing (but should be easy enough to replace). I also cannot make the pulley mechanism work, but it appears to all be in place. It may work with just some lubrication, or the fix may be more complicated than that. There are three chain links at the top of the fixture, but one is bent slightly out of place and would likely need replacing. Someone attempted to reinforce it with a piece of wire, and I have left that in place. There is some light tarnish here and there on the metal, mostly on the hooks, mounting hardware, cast iron, and chain. There are some small dents in the metal here and there, but these are not very noticeable from a distance or when the shade is in place. Some of the metal trim along the top piece is a bit bent at the edges; this could likely be bent back into place. There are several small cracks in the very bottom section of metal (just above the decorative finial). There are also some cracks on the inside metal portion of the lamp (only visible if the candle section of the lamp is removed from the base). I did not notice any chips or cracks in the milk glass shade.MEASUREMENTS: The shade measures nearly 14 inches in diameter by 6 1/2 inches tall. The entire fixture measures about 18 1/2 inches long, not including the chain or the pulley mechanism.
