Antique European Oil Lamps, Glass, Pair
European, possibly French, kerosene/oil lamp with a transfer scene of an Equestrian/Falconing Scene circa 1600s. The lamp comes from a collection of a family who lived in Europe in the 60s. We believe this style of lamp was made in the late 1800s, before electrification. Their manufacture included an opalescent overlay glass technique seen in Bavarian and Austrian glass making. The wicks are long gone, but the brass mechanisms still work and unscrew to access the oil storage. They are in mint condition with no chips cracks or flaws in the glass. Some of the gold trim shows slight signs of wear.
(see pictures for all the great details). The lamps measure about 21 1/2 Tall and.
