Amethyst Cut Overlay Parlor Antique Oil Lamp. This beautiful cut overlay lamp is decorated with an amethyst cut to clear font with; star, thumbprint, and coin cuts. It has a reed brass column and white marble base. It dates from the Mid -19th Century. The same brass standard can be found on display at the Sandwich Glass Museum on Cape Cod on a whale oil lamp.

Boston Sandwich, Atterbury or early Bohemian origin. Purple Amethyst Cased cut font, is a very scarce oil lamp color. It measures approximately 11 + 1/8 inches tall, 7/8 of an inch across the opening of the collar, 4.5 inches at the widest point of the font, and 3 + ¾ inches wide square base.Weighs 2 pounds 7 ounces. It is in very fine condition based on it's age, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
