Antique Bohemian Oil Lamps Mary Gregory Lamps Hugo Schneider Hurricane Lamps. This rare pair of Victorian Mary Gregory Hurricane lamps are gorgeous. Detailed with hand painted high relief Mary Gregory cameos. Mirror images, one of a young boy with a stick and a letter or a book in his hand, about to deliver it to the little girl on the accompanying lamp reaching out to grasp it. Beautiful landscape trees in the background all on a glossy black ground. Some people call this black amethyst, they appear black to me. Condition used good overall condition, patena, wear, old oil stains, etc.
To brass finish as one should expect from antique oil lamp burners that have burned oil, glass very good for age, a few tiny scuffs. I believe the burners to be Hugo Schneider.
One chimney marked Germany, the other has rough edges. The pair stand about 24 1/4" overall height, 15 1/2" up to burner.
