Antique Blown Font Glass Whale Oil Lamp, Drop Tube Burner, Stepped Base, c. This beautiful lamp is a rare and early example with a clear free-blown conical shaped font joined by wafers to a pressed stepped square cut corner base. This is one of the earliest glass lamps manufactured possibly at the Sandwich Glass factory. This has an early dropped tube burner at the top with a single tube burner and cork bottom with a new wick. The condition for such an early and hard to find rarity is very good, with a hairline to the base and minimal wear.

DIMENSIONS: The lamp measures 10 1/8 H. (top of burner) 9 1/2 H.

(top of font) x 2 7/8" Dia at the font, x 3 15/16" wide at the square base. CONDITION: The lamp is in very good condition with a tight hairline and some minor wear to the base. There are also the imperfections often found in early flint glass of this period.
