Glass and pewter whale oil night light/lamp insert. Original not reproduction, late 1700s to early 1800s 2. I think this is make do, could be insert for a lantern 3.

Glass is old, some imperfections, 10 sides 4. I think the top and bottom collar are pewter 5. Looks like the bottom of the font is wood 6.

Wick holder unscrews easily 9. Definitely hand made one of a kind.
