(2) c. 1880 Antique Cranberry Opalescent Glass Oil Lamps

Offered for sale is a beautiful pair of antique cranberry opalescent glass oil lamps manufactured during the late 1800s by Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. The first is a miniature lamp with a scalloped square base, beehive pattern stem, and cranberry opalescent seaweed pattern font. Affixed to the font is a stamped brass collar.

This lamp stands approximately 8 3/8 tall. The second lamp would have rested in either a cast iron bracket or a hanging oil lamp.

This lamp is round in shape with a Coinspot opalescent pattern and it has a brass collar and brass filler cap on the top shoulder. This lamp measures approximately 6 in diameter.

The overall condition of each lamp is good, however they both have internal cracks within the glass itself as a result of heat. Both lamps are extremely clean and. He fonts have beautiful color and clarity and I see no oil residue inside. The glass has standard manufacturing imperfections in the form of air bubbles, inclusions, etc. The brass pieces look great with no splits and they have a nice aged patina.
