2 Antique VENETIAN Kerosene Oil FOOTED Blue Opalescent Coin Spot FINGER LAMPS. Offered is a pair of beautiful and rare antique Venetian kerosene/oil lamps with blue opalescent glass fonts created in the Coin Dot/Spot pattern, clear frosted bases and brass collars. The bottom of the font on both are frosted. Featured on page 101 of Oil Lamps II, by Catherine Thuro, they stand about 5-3/4" tall and 4-1/8" diameter across the vase.
They are in very good to excellent condition. One of them has few small chips on the bottom of the base and a manufacturing inclusion in the glass.
In the picture it is pronounced and It looks like a crack, but is actually a manufacturing birthmark completely on the inside of the glass with no sign of damage on the outside. Antique and vintage glass will exhibit signs of the handmade process, such as air bubbles, straw marks, undissolved sand, etc.
