1883 Scott Lamp Co. Ltd. Antique Brass Hanging Nautical Cabin Oil Lamp Lantern

Here I have a wonderful SCOTT LAMP CO. BRASS HANGING OIL LAMP, LATE 19TH CENTURY. It is H 26", W 18-1/4", and weighs 8 lbs.

The plate is inscribed: Scott Lamp Co. July 1883 Admiralty Service, St. It has a Sherwood Ltd. Made in England BHam duplex burner.

The font is weighted at the base and holds lamp oil without any issues. This oil lamp is complete and in full working order. The lever on the duplex burner works to extinguish the flame. There is a slight crease on top of the font as you will see in the photos. The brass has a lot of aged patina. The base had a repair and I added E6000 for added strength. The repair or attempt to drill a hole through the base was unsuccessful I would say because as you can see in the photo the inside of the font has had no holes. I will unscrew the hood from the frame so it will fit in the box better and be more cost efficient. Please ask questions and I will do my best to help you. The item "1883 Scott Lamp Co.
