RARE Antique GREEN OWL Milk Glass MINIATURE FIGURAL OIL LAMP Complete BROWN EYES
Rare Miniature OWL Figural Oil Lamp. Presented for your consideration is this rare miniature oil lamp.
The figural lamp is made of milk glass and features an owl. The base of the lamp serves as the body of the owl while the shade acts as the head. Both pieces have intricate detailing to show feathers of the owl and the base has claws and a tail.
The front and back of the shade has owl eyes in red-brown coloration with a black beak. The lamp has a light and dark green coloration throughout. The paint is original to the lamp and was fired onto the glass during the manufacturing of the lamp. The lamp is completed with a brass collar, brass burner, brass shade holder and clear glass chimney. This scarce lamp is pictured in the "Miniature Lamps I" book by Smith on page 205.
Dates to the late 19th century and guaranteed to be antique. This very hard to find lamp would make a wonderful addition to any miniature or figural oil lamp collection!
The shade was repaired at one time, cracks and glue residue are visible on the inside of the shade. Two of the cracks are visible from the outside.
The base is free of cracks, chips and breaks. However, felt stoppers were added to the bottom of the base at one time.
Chimney is also free of damage. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
