No chips, cracks or damage to the glass and some minor rubs and scrapes in the paint. Nothing that takes away from its stunning display. Amazing condition for it's age! It was previously electrified, probably mid 1900's, this wiring is included, but no longer attached inside to the sockets.
There is an upper and lower socket to light up the base and a 3 way switch at the base. That bulb was attached to the bottom of the brass font. The font, as you can see also has cracks in the surface, and some tape on it. Because the font was drilled out to attach the lower bulb, it would no longer be useful to hold oil.
It would not be hard to find another drop in font to convert this lamp back to oil burning. The cast base is very ornate and has 4 feet. P & A and an unreadable number are on the underside of it's base. This gorgeous lamp measures an impressive 26" tall and the base glass is approx 12" across. I rarely find these with top and bottom matching glass in this condition!
