Antique Composite Oil Kerosene Lamp Star & Clover Font Painted Flowers Pedestal

Composite lamps were at the height of their popularity from the 1880s to the early 1900s. They are so called because the pattern glass fonts were interchangable with different types of bases.
An Early American Pressed Glass font with a scalloped star and clover frosted font draws attention to this magnificent lamp. A brass connector attaches the font to the pedestal or stand.
The pedestal is made of light blue opaque glass with painted pink flowers and green leaves. The pedestal stands in a slate base. The base is painted black. The original brass collar is attached to the font. Notice the width of the collar.
This one is rather unusual. There was no burner with this lamp. The piece in the center of the collar is just a piece of cardboard that can be removed easily. The lamp is 4 1/2" square at the base, and it stands 12" tall.
The font is 5 3/4 in diameter. The lamp font has some oil residue inside and needs to be cleaned. There is a shallow 1/2 chip on the base of the slate lamp base.
There is a slight dent in the collar. Otherwise, this lamp is in good condition.
There are no chips, flakes, or cracks in the glass! Please note that most of my items are vintage. They will naturally show wear from years of use.
